Abu Dhabi eSIM

100 UAE plans · from $3.79

Abu Dhabi is spread across islands and built for driving — the Grand Mosque, Louvre, Corniche and Yas Island are each a proper taxi ride apart. A travel eSIM covers the emirate and Dubai on the same plan, which matters because most itineraries do both.

Landing at Zayed International (AUH)

There is no metro from the airport; it is a 30–40 minute taxi to the corniche, or a longer bus. The airport taxi rank is metered and orderly, but having data lets you compare it against a booked car before you commit.

Which networks you'll be on in Abu Dhabi

Siima eSIMs for the UAE ride e& (Etisalat) and du. Both give excellent 5G across Abu Dhabi island, Yas, Saadiyat and the E11 corridor to Dubai.

Coverage around Abu Dhabi

Corniche, Yas and Saadiyat

Exceptional 5G speeds across all three. Ferrari World, Yas Marina and Louvre Abu Dhabi are all strongly covered, indoors included.

Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque

Good coverage across the complex and the car parks. The interior prayer halls are quieter for signal, and phone use is restricted in parts of them anyway.

The road to Dubai

The E11 holds strong signal the entire 90-minute drive, and your UAE plan covers Dubai with no change.

Liwa and the desert

The Empty Quarter edge at Liwa has coverage along the main road and at the resorts. Dune-bashing routes and the deeper desert lose it, as you would expect.

How much data you need

Abu Dhabi trips are usually short and car-based: 2–4 GB covers a typical few days. Combined Abu Dhabi and Dubai itineraries run closer to 5 GB for a week.

Frequently asked questions

Can I make WhatsApp or FaceTime calls in Abu Dhabi with an eSIM?
Voice and video calling over WhatsApp, FaceTime and similar apps is restricted on UAE networks, and a travel eSIM does not change that — the block is at network level, not on your plan. Messaging, photos and voice notes work normally. Locally licensed apps such as Botim are the sanctioned alternative.
Does my UAE eSIM work in Dubai and the other emirates?
Yes. Siima plans for the UAE are country-wide, covering Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah, Ras Al Khaimah and Fujairah on one eSIM.
How do I set up an eSIM before arriving in Abu Dhabi?
Install it at home while you still have Wi-Fi: open Settings → Cellular → Add eSIM and scan the QR code from your Siima confirmation email. Leave the line switched off until you land — the plan starts counting from first use in UAE, not from purchase.
How much data do I need for a trip to Abu Dhabi?
Abu Dhabi trips are usually short and car-based: 2–4 GB covers a typical few days. Combined Abu Dhabi and Dubai itineraries run closer to 5 GB for a week.
Is an eSIM cheaper than roaming in Abu Dhabi?
Almost always. Daily roaming passes from most home carriers run $10–15 per day, while Siima plans covering Abu Dhabi start from $3.79 for the whole trip. You also avoid per-megabyte charges if you exceed a roaming pass allowance.
