Dhaka is one of the most densely populated cities on earth, and its traffic is legendary in a way that has to be experienced to be believed — a five-kilometre trip can take an hour and a half. Unlimited plans never run out and your eSIM is never disconnected, but every one has a fair-use limit: a set amount of full-speed data, after which the speed is reduced. The amounts differ between plans — most give a daily full-speed allowance that refills every 24 hours from when you first activate the eSIM, while Premium plans give a larger allowance for the whole plan instead. Each plan states its own allowance and the speed after it before you buy. At the reduced speed, messaging, maps, email and light browsing still work; video streaming and video calls may not. If you want every gigabyte at full speed, choose a fixed-GB plan.

Coverage around Dhaka
Old Dhaka and the centre
Good 4G across Old Dhaka, Ahsan Manzil, the Sadarghat river terminal and the newer Gulshan and Banani districts. Congestion at peak hours slows data as much as it does traffic.
The metro
Dhaka's elevated MRT Line 6 runs above ground with consistent signal — and it is by some distance the fastest way to cross the city.
Cox's Bazar and the coast
The world's longest natural beach and the road south are covered in the towns and along the main strip.
The Sundarbans
The mangrove forest and the boat routes through it have very limited coverage — the multi-day cruises are effectively offline once you are into the channels.
