Unlimited plans never run out and your eSIM is never disconnected, but every one has a fair-use limit: a set amount of full-speed data, after which the speed is reduced. The amounts differ between plans — most give a daily full-speed allowance that refills every 24 hours from when you first activate the eSIM, while Premium plans give a larger allowance for the whole plan instead. Each plan states its own allowance and the speed after it before you buy. At the reduced speed, messaging, maps, email and light browsing still work; video streaming and video calls may not. If you want every gigabyte at full speed, choose a fixed-GB plan.

Old Town and the Aare
Strong coverage across the arcades, the Zytglogge and the riverbank. The Aare loop and the bear park are covered end to end.
Swiss rail
Coverage follows the rail network almost everywhere, including most tunnels. The Lötschberg and Gotthard base tunnels are the notable long gaps.
Jungfrau region and the Bernese Oberland
Interlaken, Grindelwald and Lauterbrunnen are well covered, and the cable cars and mountain railways hold signal at most stations — including, remarkably, much of the Jungfraujoch route.
Alpine hiking
Marked trails near the lift systems keep coverage. The higher passes, glacier routes and remote valleys do not — check the SAC hut and weather pages before you set off, not during.
How much data you need
Switzerland is a light-data, high-value destination: 2–3 GB for a week is usually plenty. The saving against Swiss roaming charges is the real reason to have the plan.
