Unlimited plans never run out and your eSIM is never disconnected, but every one has a fair-use limit: a set amount of full-speed data, after which the speed is reduced. The amounts differ between plans — most give a daily full-speed allowance that refills every 24 hours from when you first activate the eSIM, while Premium plans give a larger allowance for the whole plan instead. Each plan states its own allowance and the speed after it before you buy. At the reduced speed, messaging, maps, email and light browsing still work; video streaming and video calls may not. If you want every gigabyte at full speed, choose a fixed-GB plan.

Coverage around Santiago
Santiago Metro
One of the better metro systems in South America, with coverage in stations and tunnels across the network. Line 1 through the centre is consistently strong.
Providencia, Lastarria and Bellavista
Dense coverage across the central neighbourhoods, including Cerro San Cristóbal and the funicular to the summit.
Valparaíso and the coast
The Route 68 drive west and Valparaíso's hills and funiculars are well covered — useful, because the city's stairways defeat most sense of direction.
Cajón del Maipo and the ski resorts
The Andes valleys east of the city hold signal on the main roads and at the resorts. The upper Maipo canyon and the trails past the last village drop out.
How much data you need
A week in Santiago with day trips runs 3–5 GB. A longer Chile route north to the Atacama or south to Patagonia deserves a bigger plan — the distances are enormous.
