Unlimited plans never run out and your eSIM is never disconnected, but every one has a fair-use limit: a set amount of full-speed data, after which the speed is reduced. The amounts differ between plans — most give a daily full-speed allowance that refills every 24 hours from when you first activate the eSIM, while Premium plans give a larger allowance for the whole plan instead. Each plan states its own allowance and the speed after it before you buy. At the reduced speed, messaging, maps, email and light browsing still work; video streaming and video calls may not. If you want every gigabyte at full speed, choose a fixed-GB plan.

Coverage around Berlin
U-Bahn and S-Bahn
Station platforms are covered across the network, and the newer U5 extension has continuous tunnel signal. Some older U-Bahn tunnel sections still drop between stations, so load your route before you go down.
Mitte, Kreuzberg and Neukölln
Solid 5G across the central districts. Berlin's thick-walled Altbau buildings and courtyard blocks weaken indoor signal noticeably on lower floors and in basement bars.
Tempelhofer Feld and Tiergarten
The old airfield and the Tiergarten are both fully covered end to end — useful, since neither has much signage and both are far bigger than they look.
Potsdam and the lakes
The S7 to Potsdam holds signal the whole way and Sanssouci is well covered. Coverage thins around the more remote Brandenburg lakes north of the city.
How much data you need
