Suva is Fiji's capital and its largest city — a working port and university town on the wet, green side of Viti Levu, and not where the postcards come from. Most visitors land at Nadi on the dry side and head straight for the islands. A travel eSIM covers all of it, and the outer islands are where it stops.
Landing at Nadi & Nausori (NAN / SUV)
International flights land at Nadi, which is about four hours by road from Suva across the island. Nausori airport serves Suva with domestic flights. This catches people out — the two are not close.

Unlimited plans never run out and your eSIM is never disconnected, but every one has a fair-use limit: a set amount of full-speed data, after which the speed is reduced. The amounts differ between plans — most give a daily full-speed allowance that refills every 24 hours from when you first activate the eSIM, while Premium plans give a larger allowance for the whole plan instead. Each plan states its own allowance and the speed after it before you buy. At the reduced speed, messaging, maps, email and light browsing still work; video streaming and video calls may not. If you want every gigabyte at full speed, choose a fixed-GB plan.

Coverage around Suva
Suva and the south-east coast
Good coverage across the city, the museum and botanical gardens, and along the Queens Road corridor.
Nadi, Denarau and the Coral Coast
Comprehensively covered — the resort strip on the western side is where the infrastructure is concentrated.
Mamanuca and Yasawa islands
The nearer Mamanucas have coverage; the further Yasawas are patchy to none. Island-hopping boat routes lose signal between stops, and resort Wi-Fi is often the only connection.
Cyclone season
From November to April, weather warnings and ferry cancellations are the thing you will actually use data for. The alerts come through official channels and change quickly.
How much data you need
A week in Fiji is 1–2 GB. Resort Wi-Fi covers most of it, and the outer islands have nothing to use.
