Unlimited plans never run out and your eSIM is never disconnected, but every one has a fair-use limit: a set amount of full-speed data, after which the speed is reduced. The amounts differ between plans — most give a daily full-speed allowance that refills every 24 hours from when you first activate the eSIM, while Premium plans give a larger allowance for the whole plan instead. Each plan states its own allowance and the speed after it before you buy. At the reduced speed, messaging, maps, email and light browsing still work; video streaming and video calls may not. If you want every gigabyte at full speed, choose a fixed-GB plan.

The Underground
Coverage is now live on most of the Central, Northern, Jubilee, Elizabeth and Victoria lines, plus the ticket halls of nearly every station. Older deep-level sections of the Piccadilly and Bakerloo still drop between stations — download your route before you descend.
Zone 1 landmarks
Westminster, the South Bank, the City and the West End all have dense 5G. The Thames itself is fine — river bus routes keep signal the whole way to Greenwich.
Parks and open spaces
Hyde Park, Regent's Park and Hampstead Heath are well covered. The Heath dips slightly in the wooded northern section but never fully drops.
Day trips
Trains to Oxford, Cambridge, Bath and Brighton hold signal for most of the route, with the usual gaps in cuttings and tunnels.
How much data you need
A week in London is typically 3–5 GB — mostly Citymapper, contactless top-ups, and photos going to the cloud. Turn off automatic photo backup on mobile data if you shoot a lot.
