Macau eSIM

91 Macau plans · from $3.47

Macau packs a Portuguese colonial old town and the largest casino industry in the world onto a peninsula and two islands you can cross in half an hour. Like Hong Kong it is its own mobile market — a third separate plan on any trip that also takes in Hong Kong and the mainland.

Landing at Macau International (MFM)

Macau has its own airport, but most visitors arrive by ferry from Hong Kong (about an hour) or by bus over the Hong Kong–Zhuhai–Macau Bridge. Both crossings are immigration checkpoints and both change which network you are on.

Which networks you'll be on in Macau

Siima eSIMs for Macau ride CTM and SmarTone Macau. The territory is small and comprehensively covered with 4G and 5G.

Coverage around Macau

Senado Square and the old town

Strong coverage across the UNESCO centre, the Ruins of St Paul's and the surrounding lanes — a compact area, easily walked.

Cotai and the resorts

Comprehensive indoor coverage across the casino resorts, which is where most visitors spend their time and where the Wi-Fi is also excellent.

Taipa and Coloane

The village lanes, Hac Sa beach and the coastal paths are covered end to end.

The Hong Kong and Zhuhai crossings

Both the ferry and the bridge take you into a different mobile market. Neither a Macau plan nor a Hong Kong plan covers the other, and neither covers the mainland.

How much data you need

A day or two in Macau is under 1 GB. It is small, indoor Wi-Fi is everywhere, and most trips here are short.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need separate plans for Macau, Hong Kong and mainland China?
Yes — all three are separate mobile markets, and a plan for one does not work in the others. A trip combining them needs either three plans or a regional plan that explicitly lists all three.
Is Macau worth more than a day trip?
The old town and Coloane reward an overnight stay, and the Cotai resorts are destinations in themselves. Most visitors come over from Hong Kong for a day — in which case the smallest plan is plenty.
How do I set up an eSIM before arriving in Macau?
Install it at home while you still have Wi-Fi: open Settings → Cellular → Add eSIM and scan the QR code from your Siima confirmation email. Leave the line switched off until you land — the plan starts counting from first use in Macau, not from purchase.
How much data do I need for a trip to Macau?
A day or two in Macau is under 1 GB. It is small, indoor Wi-Fi is everywhere, and most trips here are short.
Is an eSIM cheaper than roaming in Macau?
Almost always. Daily roaming passes from most home carriers run $10–15 per day, while Siima plans covering Macau start from $3.47 for the whole trip. You also avoid per-megabyte charges if you exceed a roaming pass allowance.
