Unlimited plans never run out and your eSIM is never disconnected, but every one has a fair-use limit: a set amount of full-speed data, after which the speed is reduced. The amounts differ between plans — most give a daily full-speed allowance that refills every 24 hours from when you first activate the eSIM, while Premium plans give a larger allowance for the whole plan instead. Each plan states its own allowance and the speed after it before you buy. At the reduced speed, messaging, maps, email and light browsing still work; video streaming and video calls may not. If you want every gigabyte at full speed, choose a fixed-GB plan.

Coverage around Lima
Miraflores, Barranco and the Malecón
Strong 4G/5G across the neighbourhoods most visitors stay in, including the full length of the clifftop Malecón and the paragliding launch point.
Centro histórico
Good coverage around the Plaza Mayor and the San Francisco catacombs, weaker inside the colonial buildings' thick walls.
Cusco and the Sacred Valley
Same plan, no change. Cusco city and the valley towns are well covered; Machu Picchu has signal at the entrance and in Aguas Calientes, and patchy coverage on the terraces themselves.
The Inca Trail and Rainbow Mountain
Multi-day trekking routes lose coverage for long stretches, which is normal and expected. Download maps and tickets before you set out.
How much data you need
Lima plus a Cusco week runs about 4–6 GB. Altitude does not affect signal, but it does affect how much you will want to sit still and use your phone.
