How “Unlimited” works: Never cut off — each plan gives a set amount of full-speed data, then a slower speed. The exact allowance and speed are shown on every plan.Read more

Unlimited plans never run out and your eSIM is never disconnected, but every one has a fair-use limit: a set amount of full-speed data, after which the speed is reduced. The amounts differ between plans — most give a daily full-speed allowance that refills every 24 hours from when you first activate the eSIM, while Premium plans give a larger allowance for the whole plan instead. Each plan states its own allowance and the speed after it before you buy. At the reduced speed, messaging, maps, email and light browsing still work; video streaming and video calls may not. If you want every gigabyte at full speed, choose a fixed-GB plan.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need a physical SIM card to use mobile data in Rwanda?
No. A Siima eSIM gives you local data in Rwanda without a physical card. Activate by scanning a QR code in your phone's settings — no shop visit, no passport check required.
How do I activate my eSIM when I arrive in Rwanda?
Install the eSIM before you travel: open Settings → Cellular → Add eSIM and scan the QR code on your Siima eSIM page (open it from your account, or from the link in your Siima email). Your data activates automatically when you first use mobile data in Rwanda.
How much data do I need for a trip to Rwanda?
For light use (maps, messaging, email) 1–3 GB per week is usually enough. For streaming or heavy navigation, choose a 5 GB+ plan. Try our travel data calculator for an estimate matched to your own trip. You can buy additional plans at any time if you run low.
Is eSIM cheaper than international roaming in Rwanda?
Almost always yes. International roaming from most home carriers costs $10–15 per day. Siima eSIM plans for Rwanda start from $23.27 and cover days or weeks of local data.
