Landing at King Khalid International (RUH)

Unlimited plans never run out and your eSIM is never disconnected, but every one has a fair-use limit: a set amount of full-speed data, after which the speed is reduced. The amounts differ between plans — most give a daily full-speed allowance that refills every 24 hours from when you first activate the eSIM, while Premium plans give a larger allowance for the whole plan instead. Each plan states its own allowance and the speed after it before you buy. At the reduced speed, messaging, maps, email and light browsing still work; video streaming and video calls may not. If you want every gigabyte at full speed, choose a fixed-GB plan.

The new network has coverage across its stations and tunnels, and the city's districts — Olaya, Diplomatic Quarter, King Abdullah Financial District — are comprehensively served.
Diriyah and the historic sites
At-Turaif and the restored Diriyah district have strong signal throughout, including the walking routes along the wadi.
Edge of the World
The escarpment 90 minutes north-west is a genuine dead zone once you leave the highway, and the track needs a 4x4. Tell someone your plan and download the route — this is not a place to rely on live navigation.
AlUla and the Red Sea
AlUla town, Hegra and the resort areas are covered on the same country plan. The desert beyond the marked sites is not.
How much data you need
A week in Riyadh is 2–4 GB. Add data for a driving trip to AlUla or the coast — the distances between cities are very long.
