Unlimited plans never run out and your eSIM is never disconnected, but every one has a fair-use limit: a set amount of full-speed data, after which the speed is reduced. The amounts differ between plans — most give a daily full-speed allowance that refills every 24 hours from when you first activate the eSIM, while Premium plans give a larger allowance for the whole plan instead. Each plan states its own allowance and the speed after it before you buy. At the reduced speed, messaging, maps, email and light browsing still work; video streaming and video calls may not. If you want every gigabyte at full speed, choose a fixed-GB plan.

Coverage around Taipei
Taipei MRT
Full coverage in every station and tunnel across the network, including the airport line. Taiwan fitted its metro for mobile service early and thoroughly.
Ximending, Da'an and the night markets
Dense 5G throughout. Shilin and Raohe night markets get crowded enough to slow throughput at peak, but never drop.
Elephant Mountain and Beitou
The Taipei 101 viewpoint trail and the Beitou hot spring valley are both covered, including the trail steps and the thermal valley walk.
Jiufen, Taroko and the east coast
Jiufen and the northern coast are well covered. Taroko Gorge has signal at the visitor centre and main road, and loses it in the narrower canyon trails and tunnels.
How much data you need
A week in Taipei is 3–4 GB. Add data for an around-the-island loop — the east coast rail and the mountain roads mean constant navigation.
