Unlimited plans never run out and your eSIM is never disconnected, but every one has a fair-use limit: a set amount of full-speed data, after which the speed is reduced. The amounts differ between plans — most give a daily full-speed allowance that refills every 24 hours from when you first activate the eSIM, while Premium plans give a larger allowance for the whole plan instead. Each plan states its own allowance and the speed after it before you buy. At the reduced speed, messaging, maps, email and light browsing still work; video streaming and video calls may not. If you want every gigabyte at full speed, choose a fixed-GB plan.

Coverage around Cairo
Cairo Metro
Coverage in stations and through most tunnel sections on all three lines. The newer Line 3 is the most consistent end to end.
Giza plateau and the pyramids
Good coverage across the plateau, at the Sphinx and along the panorama road. Signal holds at the pyramid bases; the interior passages have none.
Islamic Cairo and Khan el-Khalili
Covered throughout, though the bazaar's dense covered lanes weaken signal and the crowds slow it further at peak hours.
Nile cruises to Luxor and Aswan
Coverage is good in the towns and at the temple sites, and along much of the river. Longer stretches between stops drop out — treat a multi-day cruise as intermittently offline.
How much data you need
A week in Cairo with a Giza day and a Nile trip runs about 4–5 GB. Ride-hailing and photo uploads are the bulk of it.
