How “Unlimited” works: Never cut off — each plan gives a set amount of full-speed data, then a slower speed. The exact allowance and speed are shown on every plan.Read more

Unlimited plans never run out and your eSIM is never disconnected, but every one has a fair-use limit: a set amount of full-speed data, after which the speed is reduced. The amounts differ between plans — most give a daily full-speed allowance that refills every 24 hours from when you first activate the eSIM, while Premium plans give a larger allowance for the whole plan instead. Each plan states its own allowance and the speed after it before you buy. At the reduced speed, messaging, maps, email and light browsing still work; video streaming and video calls may not. If you want every gigabyte at full speed, choose a fixed-GB plan.

Before you buy

What happens if something goes wrong

You are buying data for a trip that has not happened yet, from a company you met a minute ago. Here is where you stand if Madagascar does not go to plan.

  • Refund if you never install it

Plans change. If you have not installed the eSIM, ask for your money back within 5 days of buying from your Order History page. Once a profile is installed on a phone it cannot be taken back, so that is where the line sits.

  • A person answers, within 24 hours

Seven days a week, including while you are away. [email protected], or the form on our support page.

  • Check your phone before you pay

An eSIM needs a phone that supports one and is not carrier-locked. Look yours up in 10 seconds — it is worth doing first.

  • One payment, no subscription

You buy a plan once. Nothing renews, nothing is stored to charge later, and every fee is shown before you pay. Card, Apple Pay or Google Pay, handled by Stripe — your card details never touch our servers.

Siima plans run on eSIM Go's network of local operator agreements — the same infrastructure behind many travel eSIM brands. Plans are data-only: you get no Madagascar phone number, so keep your home SIM on for calls and texts.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need a physical SIM card to use mobile data in Madagascar?
No. A Siima eSIM gives you local data in Madagascar without a physical card. Activate by scanning a QR code in your phone's settings — no shop visit, no passport check required.
How do I activate my eSIM when I arrive in Madagascar?
Install the eSIM before you travel: open Settings → Cellular → Add eSIM and scan the QR code on your Siima eSIM page (open it from your account, or from the link in your Siima email). Your data activates automatically when you first use mobile data in Madagascar.
How much data do I need for a trip to Madagascar?
For light use (maps, messaging, email) 1–3 GB per week is usually enough. For streaming or heavy navigation, choose a 5 GB+ plan. Try our travel data calculator for an estimate matched to your own trip. You can buy additional plans at any time if you run low.
Is eSIM cheaper than international roaming in Madagascar?
Almost always yes. International roaming from most home carriers costs $10–15 per day. Siima eSIM plans for Madagascar start from $15.61 and cover days or weeks of local data.
