Unlimited plans never run out and your eSIM is never disconnected, but every one has a fair-use limit: a set amount of full-speed data, after which the speed is reduced. The amounts differ between plans — most give a daily full-speed allowance that refills every 24 hours from when you first activate the eSIM, while Premium plans give a larger allowance for the whole plan instead. Each plan states its own allowance and the speed after it before you buy. At the reduced speed, messaging, maps, email and light browsing still work; video streaming and video calls may not. If you want every gigabyte at full speed, choose a fixed-GB plan.

Coverage around Bangkok
BTS Skytrain and MRT
The Skytrain is elevated, so signal is excellent along Sukhumvit and Silom. MRT subway tunnels have full coverage including between stations.
Grand Palace and Chao Phraya river
Solid coverage across Rattanakosin and on the express boats. The riverside is where you will use data most — boat piers are poorly signposted and the routes are easiest to follow live.
Chatuchak and the night markets
Coverage is fine, but weekend crowds at Chatuchak congest cells enough to slow map loads. Screenshot your stall list before you go in.
Ayutthaya day trip
The train and minivan routes north hold 4G the whole way, and the temple complex itself is well covered.
How much data you need
Bangkok is a heavy maps-and-rideshare city: budget 4–6 GB for a week. If you are continuing to the islands, buy the country plan rather than a Bangkok-only allowance — the same eSIM covers Phuket, Krabi and Koh Samui.
